Garden Tips

One of the most important gardening tips regards safety. Many believe that gardening is as benign as walking (and, for the most part, they’re right), but hazardous/poisonous plants can remain hidden. Always use a sturdy pair of gloves when digging through the brush. These will also protect you from blisters while working with tools.

Many expert gardeners will recommend using mulch to protect your yard against weeds. Mulch is a protective covering (shredded wood) that helps block sunlight, making it difficult for weeds to grow. Mulch also retains water for the plants that you want in your yard. Among the many gardening tips, using mulch is one of the most well-known in the landscaping community.

No matter how many gardening tips you research, the only methods with proven results are constant maintenance and hard work. You can have all the tools and fertilizers in the world, but if the garden will fail if you’re not committed. Just remember to stay safe: Wear gloves and protective clothing against the sun. Sunburns are detrimental to skin, and since you’ll be outside for most the day, it’s best to avoid them.
